The midweek night which operates out of the basement at Dogma in Nottingham, Detour welcomes artists from all corners of the underground music scene, be it grime, house, drum & bass or somewhere in between, and has seen acts as diverse as Mala, Route94 and DJ Marky grace its decks in the past year. Fast approaching its second birthday, Detour is bringing four of the best from the current house crop to keep things bumping at Nottingham Racecourse in June…
Here are the acts, in alphabetical order:
London duo Matt & Kye are key players in Black Butter’s all-conquering DJ and production roster, and when we welcomed the label to The Level back in December, they showed exactly why. As the minds responsible for the infectious ‘Ready For Your Love’ they’re clearly no slouches in the studio, while their DJ sets never fail to impress.
Carving out your own sonic niche in the crowded UK house scene is no mean feat, but Huxley has pulled it off. Kicking things off while still a teenager with a garage-based sound, he has since brought his inimitable style onto the house circuit, with huge success.
Bristol has impeccable pedigree when it comes to churning out revolutionary underground music talent, and Redlight continues the legacy with his irresistible take on house. At the same time crunchy and euphoric, his tunes are deadly, while his latest release sees him treading exciting new ground.
Shrouded in mystery, SecondCity recently dropped ‘I Wanna Feel’, a compulsive slice of house which has attracted major attention. Having gained support from the likes of Disclosure and Annie Mac, you might not be able to read up on SecondCity, but you can certainly enjoy the music.
