Skream. Benga. Artwork.
Three names that have been synonymous with dubstep ever since its early roots in Big Apple Records, Croydon, South London.
Their individual records (in both senses of the word) speak for themselves; Arthur Smith aka Artwork, less known outside the scene but was making dubstep before it even had a name and is credited
with mentoring his Magnetic Man partners from a young age . Oli Jones aka Skream needs no introduction, having penned dubstep super-hits ‘Midnight Request Line’ and the anthem that shot
him into the limelight - his remix of La Roux’s ‘In for the Kill’, his scarily diverse production skills have earned him a seat at the top table in the dubstep scene. Benga Adejumo
aka Benga also cemented his reputation with his album ‘Diary of an Afro Warrior’, alongside his involvement in the dubstep smash hit Night.
Magnetic Man is a perfect example of something that is greater than the sum of its parts, to quote Skream “This is Magnetic Man. It’s no longer three people: it’s a whole.”. A
completely new experience pushing the boundaries of live dubstep, expect to heard Magnetic Man’s productions chopped, screwed and mixed live in a different way every time. This is dubstep, but
different.
