Alix Perez:
North London based DJ/producer Alix Perez is one of the strongest young producers in the Drum and Bass scene and undoubtedly one of its most prolific.
After securing a number of releases on established labels such as V, Bassbin, Creative Source, and Soul:R, he signed to DJ Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint.
Originally from Belgium, Drum and Bass comes naturally to Alix, who immersed himself in music from an early age. Alix started to DJ at the age of 14 and progressed into production at 17, collaborating with other hotly tipped artists such as Jenna G, Redeyes, Sabre, MC Fats, Spectrasoul and Specific. Since theses early days it has been a rapid rise through the drum and bass ranks which show little sign of slowing down.
With regular appearances at nights all over the country and indeed the world, you could just as easily catch him in Paris, Toronto or casually appearing at Fabio’s ‘Swerve’ in London. With his smooth yet sophisticated selection, drawing for all the latest dubs, his production talents are mirrored in his DJ sets. Alix has always received heavy support from respected players within the scene: from Bukem to Bailey, he is viewed ‘representing the future of Drum and Bass’
In 2009 Alix released his debut album ‘1984’ on Shogun Audio to critical acclaim. Since then collaborations with Icicle, Jubei, Lynx and Sabre have filled the small gaps between his solo releases. It goes without saying that his strong exposure and reputation for putting the soul back into drum and bass is well-earned.
